You can also listen to a (rather low quality, but still alright) recording of her recent Biophilia live set here.

Today's CD Playlist: French Study
A list of the albums I listened to today while studying french, just to prove I listen to more than Katy Perry and Robyn.
MAYBE.
(from my other tumblr)
Exile in Guyville Liz Phair
My partner loves this album (he says it’s probably his all-time-favourite) and, though I liked parts of it, I never really got into it. But then I ordered it, and when it arrived I put it on and it just… clicked....

SO GUYS
I’m giving up social networking for Lent (as well as going vegan), so I won’t be around here for a while. Not that I’m particularly consistent with my posting anyway, but still!
As a consequence, I’m going to do a quick run down of… stuff.
Bodies Cee Lo Green: Despite being best known for the viral “Fuck You” (which is a pretty good song), Cee Lo Green...

Big Day Out 2011 Summary
CSS: Only saw about 15 minutes, but it was fun. Not inspired to get her albums, but still.
Wunmi: Often the best time at a festival is had attending the acts you never planned to see. She was on at Lilyworld, which was essentially the hippy / stoner part of the festival. Considering how intense the rest of the festival is, having a place that’s just… chilled is excellent. Her voice...

Janelle Monae's "The ArchAndroid" Movie Analysis
Interesting analysis of Janelle’s “The Archandroid”: there’s a lot to read, but it’s good to have a whole story to go along with it. Enjoy!
thehoosh:
This Title is no Accident. Anyone that has Surrendered their Ears to all Eighteen Tracks of Janelle Monae’s masterful debut album “The ArchAndroid” knows that the Audio Experience is so Optimal, it becomes a Visual...

Top 100 Most Played →
A list I published on my other blog that might reflect more of the music I actually listen to. I’m proud of Robyn making it into my Top 100 Most Played considering I’ve only had the album for a couple of months.
jamesjunk:
I’m cleaning out iTunes because I’m sick of having it being large and unmanagable and full of music I never listen to. SO I’m going to clear everything out and...

Get Outta My Way - Kylie Minogue
After my disappointment with “All The Lovers”, I’m… happy.
This song screams Kylie like a drag queen on ice. And that’s a very, very good thing.
The song owes a lot to Daft Punk, and much dance-pop for the last few years, but (as Kylie (and / her producers) always seems to be able to do) it feels fresh. It is certainly one of the...

Justin Bieber's "U Smile" 800% Slower →
You all know my opinion on Justin Bieber, but this is one of the most beautiful things I have heard in recent weeks. Basically, Shamantis (should we know who that is?) slowed down Justin Bieber’s “U Smile” (even the titles makes we want to vomit) by 800% and turned into into a beautiful, breathing, Sigur Ros-esque piece.
As someone comments on the video, “Let’s all...

Body Talk Pt. 1 - Streaming on Robyn's MySpace →
Prior to the release of “Body Talk Pt. 1”, Robyn is streaming the entire EP from her MySpace page.
(I’m waiting til I get the physical CD, but if it takes too long, I might just listen to it all here :P)
